Aurora’s Degree & P G College organized ABHIYAAN- a literary fest for the intermediate students of various colleges in the twin cities on 13^th November’ 09. Hosted by the Department of English, the event was catered to inculcate the competitive and team spirit in the students and also to let them present their opinions on the happenings in and around the world. The event was kick started with the Principal addressing the gathering and declaring that all the first prize winners’ education will be sponsored by Aurora. This was followed by the inspiring speech of the Chief Guest Dr. Vijay Kumar, Prof, Department of English, Osmania University. The students participated with gusto in the all the literary activities which included dumb charades, ad savvy, picture speaks, quiz, debate and talent hunt. The latent talent of the students was brought to the surface with these activities. The valedictory was held in the evening, with Prof Mohanty, Head, Department of English, University of Hyderabad, addressing the gathering and awarding the prize winners. The energy and enthusiasm of the 400 and more students soared high even at the end of the day. The occasion was a grand success as the students enjoyed their day – a little different from the regular monotony.
