Student Activities – Quiz

Plan for conducting Quiz competition – 2011-12

Methodology:

We are planning to conduct quiz competitions in 5 levels

I –level

On line quiz for all students (simple / basic questions) and top 300 students will be selected for level II

II –level

On line quiz for 300 students (tough questions) and top 100 students will be selected for level III

III – level

20 groups will be formed from selected 100 students as two pools

Pool A -10 groups

Pool B-10 groups

Best 3 groups will be selected from each pool

IV -  level

Here 6 teams will be formed and 3 teams will be selected for  level V

V – level

Here 2 teams will be selected

Winners will be sent to various quiz competitions

Areas:

The following areas were chosen for conducting quiz competition

  • Current affairs
  • History and Geography
  • Polity and Economics
  • General Science (it includes environmental issues)
  • Science and Technology

 

 

 

Implementation

There are 2 alternatives for conducting the first 2 levels of quiz competition.

  1. On line through web portal (this test can be attempted from anywhere )

Or

separate link should be provided for all the students like psychometric test. ( It should be developed by web portal developers)

  1. Utilization of computer lab during their lab sessions

Quiz Pattern

10 questions will be given from above mentioned  5 areas (10X5=50 questions with time limit of 25 minutes)

Evaluation

  1. Participation certificate will be given for all the students
  2. 2. Students, who got selected in the second level will be awarded as  Good
  3. Toppers of third level will be awarded as Very Good
  4. Toppers of fourth level will be given as Excellent
  5. The final winners will be awarded with Excellency certificate and prizes

Environment for conducting on line quiz should be finalized ( above mentioned 2 alternatives)

This will be conducted with the help of student volunteers as scheduled below

I level  – July, Aug

II level – Sep

III level – Oct

IV level – Nov

V level - Dec
