Department of Mathematics
The department of Mathematics has been building the abilities of students for addressing critical issues of scientific significance & social benefit since inception of college in 1989. The Department consists of a versatile combination of senior experienced faculty and active young faculty. Mathematics is the parent subject for Physical Sciences and it’s like a back bone for every technological advancement in today’s world. Therefore great care is taken to explain the subject matter in such a way that, even an average student is able to understand it. The treatment of theory is done in a systematic and interesting manner. The faculties of the department with their hard work have emerged successfully in coping with the quality & quantity of change that has happened in the field of Mathematics. The Department is committed to nurture research activity at the very core of academic activities so that both faculty & students are prepared to reach highest frontiers of knowledge creation. Graduates of this Department are distinctively placed in reputed institutions and organizations both within the country and abroad. It has been the cherished goal of the Department to inculcate in the students a desire to excel, to demonstrate originality and to develop a sense of responsibility towards the society. The Department also has activities where it interacts with people in the academic community at large.
Today, a great variety of mathematical methods are applied in biology and medicine, apart from subjects like physics, chemistry, electronics, computer science, commerce and management studies.
The impact of the fast growing number of applications of mathematical methods makes it indispensable that the students learn the fundamental branches of mathematics. Also the students from life science, engineering, commerce and social science need to learn there techniques without distracting from main field of study.
Therefore the objectives of the Department are:
- We help students enjoy mathematics by providing basic & advanced knowledge along with skills in fundamental branches of mathematics.
- We commit ourselves to serve the professional needs of our students by engaging them in creative work & helping them understand the role of mathematics in other disciplines.(Interdisciplinary approach)
- We expose them to the diversity of career paths available to them including research.
- We ensure that students understand and appreciate the nature of mathematical thought and the role that abstraction and logic play in it.
We develop strong analytical, computational and problem-solving skills in students and provide them with the foundation for success in a wide variety of endeavors (including advanced studies and work in business and industry).

Satyanarayana Kota
Satyanarayana, Head, Department of Mathematics has more than seven years of teaching experience at the U G and P G level. He specializes in handling mathematical topics like Number theory, Graph theory and Operations Research. He is pursuing research work in the field of “Applied Statistics- -Non parametric Inference”. He has presented papers in international conferences at Alighar, BITS-Pilani, Vizag. Committed to teaching modern topics in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Sciences, he is actively involved in the preparation of modules which inspires students in moderning learning process. He is also a member in Indian Academy of Science.

Meera Joshi
Meera Joshi, Senior faculty, Department of Mathematics has 19 years of teaching experience. She has contributed for the growth of the department for a period of 8 years as the Head from 2002 to 2010. She is a passionate teacher. She teaches every discipline of Mathematics at U.G. and at P.G level. Her strengths are good logical thinking, enthusiasm, positive attitude, discipline, strong determination and strong will power. She enjoys contributing towards the growth of Mathematics through research and teaching. She has presented two papers at national level. Her area of interest is Astrophysics. She is pursuing Ph.D. in Mathematics from Osmania University on “Circular restricted photo gravitational three body problem” in the specialized area of Celestial Mechanics. She has excellent organizing abilities. She reads books on spirituality & Science

Chandrakala  ala P
She is industrious, with enthusiastic work attitude. She is pursuing M.Phil. in Sri Venkateswara University, under the guidance of Dr. Sudhakar, Professor in S.V. University. Her strengths are self confidence, positive attitude , good problem solving skills and abstract and analytical thinking ability and professionalism. Her area of interest is algebra and Operational Research. She takes an active role in organizing departmental events.

Devika is a faculty of mathematics department having 3 years experience. Her strengths are self-confidence, positive attitude and sincerity. She has good team spirit and coordination. She likes to teach differential equations, three dimensional geometry, Algebra and Numerical analysis. She is enthusiastic in solving unsolved problems. She is a hard worker and a committed teacher. Her area of interest is Operational Research.
