Anti-Ragging Cell

The Anti-Ragging Cell of Aurora’s Degree & PG College is constituted in accordance with the regulations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to ensure a safe and ragging-free campus. The institution strictly follows the provisions of the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009.

Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the college premises, hostels, and surrounding areas. The college is committed to maintaining an atmosphere of mutual respect, discipline, and harmony, ensuring that every student feels secure and welcomed in the academic environment.

Objectives

The Anti-Ragging Cell functions with the following objectives:

  • To prevent ragging in all forms within the campus and associated facilities.
  • To create awareness among students about the consequences of ragging.
  • To promote a culture of respect, dignity, and healthy interaction among students.
  • To ensure that freshers feel safe, comfortable, and supported in the institution.
  • To enforce the guidelines and directives issued by the UGC and other regulatory authorities.

Functions and Responsibilities

The Anti-Ragging Cell performs the following functions:

  • Monitor and ensure a ragging-free environment across the campus.
  • Receive and address complaints related to ragging from students or staff.
  • Conduct inquiries into reported incidents in a fair and timely manner.
  • Recommend appropriate disciplinary action against those found guilty of ragging.
  • Organize awareness programmes, orientation sessions, and campaigns to educate students about anti-ragging laws and institutional policies.
  • Coordinate with faculty members, wardens, and student representatives to ensure compliance with anti-ragging regulations.

Complaint Procedure

Students who experience or witness ragging can report the matter through the following channels:

  • Submit a written complaint to the Anti-Ragging Cell.
  • Inform any faculty member or college authority.
  • Contact the national UGC Anti-Ragging Helpline: 1800-180-5522.
  • Send an email complaint to the designated institutional email address.

All complaints will be handled with strict confidentiality, and appropriate action will be taken as per UGC guidelines.

Institutional Commitment

Aurora's Degree & PG College maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. Any student found involved in ragging activities will face strict disciplinary action, which may include suspension, expulsion, or legal proceedings as per UGC regulations.

The institution encourages students to actively participate in maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive academic community.

Anti-Ragging Cell Academic Year: 2025–26

The Anti-Ragging Cell of Aurora's Degree & PG College is constituted in accordance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission under the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009.

The cell works to ensure that the institution maintains a ragging-free environment and that all preventive and disciplinary measures are effectively implemented on campus.

The Anti-Ragging Cell consists of representatives from the administration, faculty, and student community to ensure proper monitoring and quick redressal of complaints.
